red river gorge

Red river gorge is one of those places we visited as children and haven’t been able to shake since. A bit of nostalgia was certainly defrosting on this most recent trip. Tommy aren’t necessarily kids anymore, but it always feels like it when we go back. I’ve only ever been when the air is crisp and the sun is returning. the lack of cell service always does something to make you appreciate how simple you are. It’s good to feel inadequate at times.

We always drink too many Ale-8-1s (I won’t tell you how long it took us to figure out how to say that right) and cobble together some sandwiches with ingredients from a dingy market that still lives in the 80’s. It’s always so easy and relaxing.

With one exception: I have never been so nervous as when a field trip of grade school kids were frolicking about at the top of natural bridge. Backpack leashes should have been suggested before hand, but thats just my humble opinion.
